Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy
July – August 2023
Where
has all the summer gone? No doubt, living was easy, and the cotton fields were
growing when Porgy and Bess was performed in Boston in 1936. But here on the
Llano Estacado of Texas in 2023, the living wasn’t easy, and the summer was hot
– too hot and too up and down,
So,
being of sound mind and body, the Ft. Nichols clan packed our bags and fled to
the Northeast and onward into Canada.
Hallelujah,
where the average daily temperature was only about 66 degrees. And that is my
honest and straightforward reason for not publishing a July Blog or Newsletter.
With
August upon us, the time is here to kick-start some degree of normalcy, which
for us means Books. In our early writing/publishing adventures, “The
Third Dawn” refocused my writing genre from Mystery/Espionage to Religious
Fiction. It was a joy to write and publish, but on afterthought, the book
lacked depth…it needed more research, dialogue, and character building. So,
after some time, we pulled the book off the market, and I returned to my
original genres of what I had done for nearly fifty years; document many of my
experiences of the criminal justice system into novels—Color of the Prism, Voices
in the Fog, The Spy Among Us, Sweet Emily, Arrows of Allah, We Were Young
Once…, and The Russian. We also wrote and published several short
stories and two screenplays during that time.
In August 2023, the target focuses on publishing a revised edition of The Third Dawn. Stay tuned to my website, www.thomasjnichols.com, or the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/ThomasJNicholsAuthor/, Twitter (X) at (1) Thomas J. Nichols Author (@Tomas0274) / X (twitter.com)

Team (Advanced Readers Copy), where you can have a free eBook for the cost of only
providing us with a brief review. We will be up and running in late September
or early October.
