The Ides of March?

Good things always happen at Yule time, but Christmas in the ides of March? March 23rd to be exact. Santa hadn’t slipped down our chimney, and no one nibbled our freshly baked dark chocolate cookies. but our surprise was heart-felt when we answered the doorbell. Christmas in March, compliments of the free delivery service.

The driver nearly strained his back getting the two boxes from the delivery truck up to our front door. Each box was boldly labeled in bright red letters, HEAVY. And they were. Our publisher had come through. There could never be a more timely book. You have to read it to believe it. The Russians are knocking on our door.

We had survived the pandemic, supply-line disruptions, labor shutdowns, the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and one of the weirdest winters on record, but “The Russian” was in print and ebook on Amazon and was resting comfortably on our front porch ready for its readers.

It has been a long and difficult run. At times, it seemed like we had truly driven onto the road to perdition. But alas, we never gave up hope. It was Christmas in March. We already have had a book signing at a new indie bookstore, The Wild Lark Bookstore in Lubbock, so we are off to a good start.

In two weeks we will present in at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Texas Tech University

Our effort to hit the road with for book signings has hit a chuckhole with another delay. Our favorite “indie” in Tucson, “Clues Unlimited,” a fabulous, unique shop has closed. Unfortunately, it made its demise in the pandemic. It was a very special place for many years. We will miss it.

Nevertheless, we will start from scratch and identify which of the many indies in the Old Pueblo will fill our needs. In the meantime, you can get your copy at www.thomasjnichols.com/, and/or at www.amazon.com/Thomas-J.-Nichols/e/B00BD861OM for print or eBook.
